About Us
One On One Tutoring Service was established by a classroom teacher who recognized the dire need for additional instruction outside the normal school setting. He believed that all students could learn if only provided enough attention.
In 2003, he established One On One Tutoring Service as a for-profit company. Today, One On One Tutoring Service is quickly growing as a top supplemental education provider in the Philadelphia area.
Each One On One Tutoring, Reading and Educational Testing center is headed by a certified teacher who oversees a team of tutors who are either college students with a minimum of 60-course credits in education or a professional who specializes in a specific subject such as Mathematics or Science. All of our instructors comply with PA criminal background, child abuse, and FBI clearances.
One On One Tutoring, Reading and Educational Testing Center tutors meet once a month for staff developments. These monthly meetings are used to discuss student progress based on formative evaluations and also instructional strategies that are used to help students reach program goals
Our mission is to cultivate strategic learning experiences. By using researched-based curricula and providing individualized instruction, students will participate in their own learning. They will be academically prepared to succeed in school and their personal lives.
One On One Tutoring Service, Inc. provides the highest quality one to one instruction using research-based assessments and curricula to develop and implement learning plans that are customized and tailored to fit each student’s academic needs.
Our comprehensive diagnostic tests pinpoint learning gaps and allow us to develop appropriate and specific instruction to fill these gaps and build a solid foundation that will help students succeed in the classroom.
Students are tested using a standards-based, criterion-referenced test. This pre-test allows One On One Tutoring Service, Inc. to develop a learning path, complete with lessons and short quizzes that are aligned to classroom instruction. This learning path guides the instructor towards the goals set for the student.
Classroom teachers are also encouraged to complete a “Teacher Recommendation” form. The information taken from this form is used in the development of each student’s learning path.
